State of Illinois law requires a kindergartener to have a comprehensive eye exam upon entering school. This was a great decision to pass that law.
Children are incredibly adaptable so you may not notice they are struggling to stay focused. Once they are in school this becomes more of a problem. Many hyperactive children, or those with short attention spans, may need corrective eyewear or eye exercises to aid in the ability to focus and to stay focused. A comprehensive eye exam could be all that is needed to change this.
According to the American Optometric Association children should be seen by an eye doctor before 3 months old again at 3 years to detect any eye problems.
At Choice Eye Care we go the extra mile to help your children through their first eye exams and on to good vision practices for life.
